Calling all foodies! The Sleight Farm community of new homes in the Hudson Valley is fortunate to count the Culinary Institute of America’s New York campus among our neighbors. Right up the road in Hyde Park, this local gem has been a favorite among food and wine enthusiasts for decades, with fantastic dining, education, and special event opportunities for Dutchess County residents and visitors. CIA New York Restaurants:
American Bounty Restaurant
Enjoy seasonal and locally-sourced Hudson Valley contemporary and traditional cuisine, along with a first-class American wine list in a casually elegant setting.
Ristorante Caterina de’ Medici & Al Forno Trattoria
The more formal Ristorante Caterina de’ Medici serves up authentic Italian fare in a dining room that overlooks a picturesque herb and rose garden, while the more casual Al Forno Trattoria is the spot for wood oven pizza and other rustic dishes.
The Bocuse Restaurant
The Bocuse offers re-imagined classic French cuisine, French wines, and an innovative cocktail menu in a beautiful architectural interior.
The Apple Pie Bakery Café
The classic Apple Pie Bakery Café has recently reopened in a renovated space, with old favorites and new items on the menu.
The Brewery at the CIA
Created in 2015 in partnership with the Brooklyn Brewery, The Brewery at the CIA educates bachelor’s-level students about the ingredients, equipment, and techniques required to produce ales and lagers. Located in The Egg, CIA beers are sold on tap Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday–Sunday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Egg
The Egg is officially the CIA’s state-of-the-art student dining center, but many people don’t know it’s open to the public, too. Enjoy gourmet food and drink at great prices from a wide variety of stations, and in good weather, the outdoor patio provides amazing Hudson River views. Hot tip: go on the weekends, when most students are off campus. All dining options are available seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

You don’t have to be an undergraduate or graduate student to learn from the Culinary Institute of America’s world-class instructors! The CIA offers education opportunities for all members of the community, including:
